With a menu rooted in British heritage and shaped by the seasons, guests can expect elevated pub classics and bold, produce-led dishes from the kitchen. From comforting pies and indulgent puddings to summery salads and perfectly cooked steaks, every dish is made using responsibly sourced ingredients from trusted suppliers.

The George & Dragon has proudly retained Heartwood’s three-star rating from the Sustainable Restaurant Association — the highest possible — and offers a seasonally changing menu of elevated British classics using responsibly and ethically sourced, local ingredients. Expect twice-baked cheese soufflé with a rich coastal Cheddar sauce, trout gravadlax, and beetroot terrine with horseradish sorbet to start. Mains like pork tomahawk with roasted Braeburn apple, dressed Devon crab, beef & ale pie, pan-fried sea bream and a range of steaks from Aubrey Allen, through to puddings such as chocolate and amarena cherry torte and sticky toffee pudding.

Children are catered for with their own dedicated menu filled with activities to keep them occupied whilst you dine, with two courses for just £10.50 and three courses for £13.50. Dishes include veggie bolognese, cod fingers and a strawberry knickerbocker glory.

Sunday roasts are a ritual worth travelling for — think 30-day dry-aged beef from Aubrey Allen with all the trimmings, including bottomless roasties, Yorkshires and rich gravy. Drink lovers can explore a curated list of local beers, including Rebellion, low-intervention wines and refreshing cocktails.
