Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay: An Exceptional Asian Dining Experience
Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay proudly sits on Grosvenor Square, where you will find an Asian Eating House with character, great energy, exceptional cuisine, drinks and service.
Lucky Cat is inspired by the 1930s Tokyo kissas and Shanghai drinking dens. Experiential dining, inventive cocktails, and a thriving entertainment roster are cornerstones of the dining experience.
The Inspiration
Opened in 2019, Lucky Cat was inspired by Gordon Ramsay’s travels through different Asian countries, including Thailand, Vietnam, Japan and China. Lucky Cat’s menu is exceptional — a culinary journey exploring different Asian cuisines in a thoughtful and considered fashion.
Drinks & Cocktails
The drinks menu features a curated cocktail range, with the signature Lucky Negroni requiring guests to roll the dice to determine their bespoke drink, alongside beloved classics featuring an Asian flavour twist. The wine and sake offerings are equally extensive and immersive.
The Menu
Guests will marvel at the food menu, a smart exploration of different Asian cuisines. From sashimi and sushi delivered from the raw bar to Lucky Cat’s signature black cod, GFC (Gordon Fried Chicken), short rib and bao buns, diners will appreciate the elevated dishes cooked with only the finest ingredients. The menu’s journey through Asia means variety is key, and diners can indulge in Lucky Cat every day of the week.
While desserts may not be commonplace at other Asian restaurants, this is one of Lucky Cat’s specialities. The dedicated all-female pastry team in Mayfair carefully weave flavours of rose, lychee and yuzu through beautiful dishes that ensure dessert is always a must-order.
The team creates new dishes every few months and revisits and refines previous Lucky Cat favourites. Certain dishes, however, will always appear on the menu due to customer demand — these include the GFC, the Bonito Fried Duck Leg Bao, the Hand-Dived Scallops with Yuzu, and the exquisitely simple Yellowtail sashimi.
Suppliers & Craft
Gordon’s vision of offering only the best at every touchpoint is evident in all the suppliers Lucky Cat maintains strong relationships with. They range from top fish suppliers in Japan and Spain, beef from the acclaimed Lake District Farmers, and Wagyu from Japan, right down to London-based Eaten Alive, who create a unique kimchi and yuzu hot sauce for the restaurant. Lucky Cat also works with Surrey Ceramics, a family-owned business that creates and supplies bespoke plates and crockery to enrich the dining experience.
Private Dining & Masterclasses
For those looking for a more immersive dining experience, the semi-private options are an exceptional choice. The Chef’s Table seats 10 and is paired with a bespoke menu completely tailored to guests’ tastes, while the Kitchen Table offers two menus that elevate the signature offering. Three stunning private dining rooms capture the personality of the main restaurant. The Lucky Cat team are committed to sharing their knowledge across exceptional food and beverage, offering a series of boutique masterclasses. From sake to sushi, desserts to cocktails, learn from the best in one of London’s premier restaurants as you expand your expertise and discover some of the secrets behind Lucky Cat’s specialities.
