Tucked away in the heart of Grosvenor Square, Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay truly felt like a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. From the moment we stepped inside, we were immersed in a world where elegance met intimacy — the kind of place where time slows down and every detail feels perfect. The chic, Asian-inspired décor, soft romantic lighting, and warm tones ensured the perfect setting for what would become one of the most memorable evenings we’ve had in London.

The ambience was exactly what we’d hoped for — relaxed, chic, and full of a buzzy yet quiet vibe. It struck a rare balance: stylish without being over-the-top, and intimate without feeling stuffy. Nestled in a cosy corner, we felt both tucked away and completely immersed in the atmosphere.

And then came the food — the true star of the night.

We began with the Chilli and Soy Chicken Karaage — perfectly crisp on the outside, with tender, juicy chicken inside, elevated by a drizzle of citrusy yuzu mayo. It was the kind of dish that makes you pause after the first bite just to savour it.

The black cod with miso was another highlight: flaky, buttery, and rich, with the miso glaze caramelised to just the right level of sweetness. It practically melted in the mouth.

Of course, we couldn’t resist the sushi and sashimi selection — a stunning array of pristine fish, artfully plated. The tuna tartare was particularly memorable, topped with shiso and a delicate wasabi dressing that gave it just the right kick. Each bite was so fresh and flavourful that we found ourselves silently nodding in appreciation.

One of the most surprising delights was the Roasted Duck Leg Bao — steamed to pillowy perfection and filled with rich, savoury duck, pickled cucumber, and hoisin sauce. It was indulgent without being heavy, and beautifully balanced.

To finish, we shared the Sobacha and Honeycomb — a sublime example of balance and texture, and a true spectacle. This signature dessert beautifully combines grilled pear with a rich miso caramel, creating a bold flavour profile. The nutty, roasted notes of sobacha add depth and texture, while honeycomb provides a light crunch that contrasts beautifully with the softness of the fruit. Elegant, inventive, and deeply satisfying, this dessert is a fitting finale to the modern Asian dining experience that defines Lucky Cat. It’s presented as the legendary Lucky Cat with flames of hot rum — a truly Instagrammable moment.

Throughout the evening, the service was nothing short of impeccable. The team were warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate. Our server took the time to explain each dish, offer thoughtful recommendations, and somehow managed to be present just when we needed them — never rushed, never intrusive.

What truly sets Lucky Cat apart, though, is the way everything comes together so seamlessly. From the atmosphere to the artistry on each plate, it felt less like a dinner out and more like a beautifully curated culinary experience — one that somehow felt personal and luxurious at the same time.

By the end of the evening, we didn’t just feel well-fed — we felt completely transported. Gordon Ramsay has done more than open a restaurant; he’s created a place where every visit feels like a special occasion. For anyone looking for stunning décor, incredible food, and service that makes you feel truly looked after, Lucky Cat is an absolute must.
