Hampton by Hilton Gatwick: Seamless Park, Stay & Fly
We recently stayed at the Hampton by Hilton London Gatwick Airport the night before an extremely early flight to Sicily, with seven days of parking included while we were away. And honestly, it couldn’t have been a smoother start to the trip if it tried.
We arrived the evening before our flight, and everything just worked. Check-in was quick, friendly, and refreshingly hassle-free. Our room was exactly what you want in this situation, not luxury, but absolutely perfect: clean, modern, comfy, and far quieter than you’d expect this close to an airport. It was such a nice feeling to actually relax properly in a real bed, knowing we were already sorted for the morning.
Dinner was equally easy and low-key in the best way: chilli and nachos, followed by a chocolate brownie with ice cream and a little bottle of bubbles. Nothing complicated, just good, straightforward food that meant we didn’t have to venture back out or start Googling late-night airport options. One less thing to think about, which is exactly the point of a stay like this.
The parking setup was spot-on, and leaving the car in the secure covered car park for the duration of the trip felt completely stress-free, and everything was clearly well organised. But the real win? The walk. It’s genuinely about two minutes to the terminal. No shuttles, no waiting around, no dragging bags onto buses at silly o’clock in the morning, just a simple stroll straight into departures.
That ease carried through the whole experience. For a 6 am flight, it made everything feel almost too simple: park, check in, eat, sleep, and wander over to the terminal half asleep but completely unstressed.
Coming home was just as smooth. A short walk back to the hotel, a quick pick-up of the car, and we were on our way without any queues, transfers, or drama.
Overall, it turned what could have been a chaotic early-morning travel day into something genuinely calm and easy. We’d happily stay again for future Gatwick departures—it just takes all the friction out of flying.
