Luxuria Lifestyle Magazine reviews Tigermilk Spitalfields
In the quickly evolving dining scene of London, Tigermilk offers a refreshingly different menu of Latin American cuisine. Having previously gained traction in London for its bold flavours and vibrant energy at the original Charing Cross Road location, we recently returned to review their brand-new spot in Spitalfields.
While the central bar still oozes with energy, the Spitalfields location boasts a beautiful library section where we were seated for the evening. Surrounded by thoughtfully curated shelves and intimate styling, it creates a distinctively private and sophisticated feel, which sets the perfect scene for a luxury, relaxing meal.
We began our evening with a pair of incredibly refreshing drinks. For a non-alcoholic option, the Virgin Gin Mule was a standout must-try! With a crisp, beautifully balanced blend of apple juice, raspberry syrup, and lime, lengthened with a fiery ginger beer. Alongside it, a chilled Victoria lager offered a clean, authentic taste of Mexico, making for a perfectly relaxed start to the night.
True to the brand’s Latin American image, the menu encourages a sharing style of dining. We kicked off the meal with the Guacamole, a perfect example of how simplicity can hit the spot every time! It featured perfectly ripe avocado, lime, and red onion, served with satisfyingly crisp tortilla chips. Next arrived the Tacos de Cochinita Pibil. This dish was exceptional, with overnight-cooked, incredibly tender pulled pork tucked into warm corn tortillas, topped with a vibrant mango salsa and pickled red onions that provided a brilliant hit of acidity, which was the perfect way to start true Latin American style and definitely one to try when you go!
For the main course, we shifted our focus to the “Sharers” section of the menu to try the Barbacoa. Designed for a true table fiesta, this dish features rich, overnight-cooked pulled beef that has been marinated in Tigermilk’s house spice blend for eight hours. It literally fell apart at the touch of a fork whilst being flavourful and succulent. Served alongside warm tortillas, fresh herbs, and a trio of vibrant salsas, it allowed us to build our own perfect bites just to our liking, despite differing taste palates.
While the savoury courses were exemplary, the true crescendo of the evening came at the very end. For dessert, we ordered the Brioche Perdue, and it was the real highlight of the entire meal. Tigermilk’s luxurious take on French toast pairs a buttery, cloud-like brioche with whipped cream, a wonderfully gooey caramel, and the perfect crunch of candied hazelnuts. It was comforting, quietly decadent, and an amazing end to the review.
Throughout the evening, service remained polished yet relaxed, retaining that effortless hospitality we first enjoyed in Central London. For those seeking a dining experience that combines striking design, strong unique flavours, and a spirited atmosphere, Tigermilk Spitalfields delivers an unforgettable.
