I have to be honest, I’ve always been a little biased, South of France has always been my ‘favourite place in the world’, but now Montenegro holds a very special place in my heart. The people, the landscape, the food, the sea, and of course the weather, averaging 10 to 12 hours a day in summer and even three to four hours a day in winter! What’s not to love?!

Particularly stunning is the coastline from Kotor Bay around to Luštica Bay. Clear blue sea, rocky little enclaves with small secluded beaches, mainly stony (we recommend sea shoes). There are authentic family-run beach bars and restaurants on most of these beaches.

But if you really want to treat yourself, you’ll book your stay at Chedi Luštica Bay, it’s probably the most complete and perfect hotel in this region of Montenegro, it doesn’t want for anything, 5-Star unadulterated luxury.

Perched elegantly on Montenegro’s dramatic Adriatic coastline, The Chedi Luštica Bay is the kind of hotel that reminds you why luxury travel is so enticing. From the moment we arrived, we could tell that this hotel offers something truly special, a perfect mix of chic design, world-class hospitality, and breathtaking natural beauty.

Set within the stunning marina village of Luštica Bay, the hotel enjoys a stunning waterfront location, with views stretching across the shimmering bay, surrounding mountains and of course a fine selection of enviable yachts. The location was picture postcard-perfect.

Our accommodation was just as exceptional. We stayed in one of the hotel’s spacious luxury apartments, on the fourth floor, which felt more like an elegant private residence than a hotel suite. Beautifully designed with contemporary interiors, large, well-thought-through living spaces, and floor-to-ceiling windows that enhanced those fabulous views, it provided both comfort and style in abundance.

The facilities throughout the resort are just impressive. The spa provides a serene sanctuary for relaxation, offering the perfect escape after a day exploring the coastline or lounging by the water. The indoor and outdoor wellness areas are immaculate, while the treatments and attentive service made the experience even more special. We were lucky enough to enjoy a facial and body massage; both treatments were outstanding, the therapists totally knew what we needed, a bit of quiet, relaxation, with time to unwind. We felt completely pampered.

Outside, guests are spoiled for choice between the pristine private beach (stony, we recommend sea shoes) and the stunning swimming pool, with particularly comfortable sun-loungers, perfect for a little afternoon nap in the shade. The crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic are impossible to resist, while the pool area offers an idyllic setting for long, leisurely afternoons under the Montenegrin sun.

Dining at The Chedi was yet another highlight of our stay. From leisurely breakfasts overlooking the marina promenade to elegant evening dinners, every dish was beautifully presented and expertly created. The exceptional quality of the cuisine, paired with warm and attentive service, ensured that every meal felt special. Our evenings at The Spot, the hotel’s signature dining venue, were particularly memorable. Set on a beautiful terrace overlooking the marina and its collection of stunning yachts, the setting was both sophisticated and inviting. The atmosphere struck the perfect balance between relaxed luxury and understated glamour, while the delicious cuisine and impeccable service made each dining experience truly exceptional.

What truly sets The Chedi Luštica Bay apart, however, is the sense of refinement that runs through every aspect of the guest experience. The hotel is immaculate, the service warm yet polished, and the atmosphere effortlessly sophisticated without ever feeling pretentious.

There’s so much more to this hotel than just the spectacular rooms, dining and views. If you’re feeling energetic, there’s a great, fully equipped gym. You can also try kayaking, biking, paddleboarding, hiking, yoga, bird watching, sailing, and you can even book your own personal trainer. The Chedi Luštica Bay was created to celebrate an active, healthy way of living, so no more excuses.

Quite simply, The Chedi Luštica Bay exceeded every expectation. Pristine, luxurious, and utterly unforgettable, it is one of the finest hotels we have experienced in Montenegro. We left already planning our return – and that is perhaps the greatest compliment of all.
