Luxuria Reviews: Roots + Seeds Café & Kitchen Cirencester Park
Tucked away within the stunning grounds of The Old Kennels in Cirencester Park, Roots & Seeds is far more than just a restaurant, it’s a thoughtfully curated lifestyle destination centred around sustainability, community, wellness and exceptional food.
From the moment we arrived, there was an immediate sense of calm. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and open green space, the setting feels very Cotswolds, yet with a contemporary and community-focused energy that makes it stand out from the crowd. One of the loveliest touches is being able to see produce growing on-site, reinforcing the restaurant’s home-grown ethos and connection between garden and plate.
Roots + Seeds champions locally sourced ingredients and seasonal cooking, creating a menu that feels wholesome. We visited for Sunday lunch and opted for the sharing roast board, and it was genuinely one of the best Sunday dinners we’ve had in a long time.
Served generously and beautifully presented, the board arrived laden with perfectly cooked meats, crisp roast potatoes, rich gravy, giant Yorkshire puddings and an array of colourful seasonal vegetables. Every element tasted incredibly fresh, with real attention paid to flavour and quality ingredients. It felt comforting yet refined; the kind of meal designed to be shared slowly with family and friends.
What makes Roots + Seeds especially unique is how much more there is beyond the restaurant itself. The wider space has been designed as a complete community hub, including a Pilates studio, gardens, wellness spaces and even an on-site pizza restaurant, making it somewhere you could easily spend an entire afternoon.
For families, it’s an absolute gem. Next to the restaurant is an indoor play café alongside a lovely outdoor park area, which made the experience so much more relaxed and enjoyable with children in tow. My little boy absolutely loved it, and having somewhere he could play safely before and after lunch made such a difference. It’s rare to find somewhere that manages to feel stylish and aspirational while also being genuinely family-friendly, but Roots + Seeds balances both effortlessly.
The atmosphere throughout was warm, welcoming and unpretentious, with staff who clearly care deeply about both the customer experience and the ethos behind the venue.
Roots + Seeds feels like the kind of place communities need more of, somewhere beautifully designed yet grounded in sustainability, wellbeing and connection. Whether you’re visiting for a long Sunday lunch, a wellness class, coffee with friends or a family afternoon out, it offers something genuinely special.
A destination restaurant in every sense, and one we’ll absolutely be returning to.
