Luxuria Lifestyle reviews Landal Whalesborough Resort & Spa
Set amongst the beautiful Cornish countryside, just a short drive from the seaside town of Bude, Landal Whalesborough Resort & Spa offers the perfect mix of relaxation, family friendly luxury and coastal adventure. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this was a resort designed with families in mind.
We stayed in the four person Gwari Spa Barn cottage and it immediately felt like a home away from home. The open plan layout created a lovely social space for family time while still feeling spacious and calm. Thoughtful touches throughout the property made travelling with a little one incredibly easy, including a high chair and stair gate already provided on arrival, something many stays often overlook.
The cottage featured two beautifully designed bedrooms and a fantastic outdoor space complete with a private hot tub and BBQ area. One detail we particularly loved was how the outdoor patio flowed seamlessly from the dining area, making it ideal for our toddler to safely run in and out while we relaxed outside. It was these small but thoughtful details that made the stay feel so comfortable and stress free for families.
Parking was conveniently located directly outside our lodge and everything onsite was only a short walk away, including the resort’s excellent leisure facilities. We especially enjoyed spending time together in the swimming pool as a family, while the gym and spa facilities offered plenty for adults wanting to unwind too.
One of the highlights of the resort was The Weir restaurant, which overlooks the peaceful lake and surrounding countryside. The setting alone is worth visiting for, quiet, scenic and incredibly relaxing. We stopped by for coffee during our stay and loved soaking up the tranquil views, while the restaurant itself had a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It also has a great park for little ones to run around in.
For younger guests, the onsite farm was another lovely addition, allowing little ones to meet and interact with the animals, which became one of the highlights of the trip for our child. During your stay, you can meet goats, chickens, pigs, alpacas and even lambs if it’s the right time of year. Not only that, but there are regular opportunities to hand-feed the animals.
Of course, no stay near Bude would be complete without exploring the coastline. We spent time wandering around the town, enjoying traditional fish and chips and taking peaceful beach walks along the stunning Cornish coast. Returning afterwards to the calm surroundings of Whalesborough made the experience even more special.
With beautiful countryside in every direction, friendly staff throughout the resort and facilities that genuinely cater to families, Landal Whalesborough Resort & Spa is a destination that combines comfort, luxury and practicality effortlessly. Whether you are planning a coastal family break or simply looking to slow down and reconnect, this Cornish retreat offers the perfect setting.
