Regent Porto Montenegro: A Waterfront Masterpiece
There are not many so-called “six-star” hotels in the world; Jumeirah Burj Al Arab and Atlantis The Royal in Dubai are often cited, along with The Viceroy in Bali, and perhaps a few others. It’s never been entirely clear what officially elevates a property beyond the standard five-star rating.
What is clear, though, is that we have just experienced something close to perfection at the Regent Porto Montenegro, truly exceptional from start to finish. Sadly, two nights simply were not long enough! From the immaculately presented doormen, whose manners and local knowledge are outstanding, to the pool attendants who anticipate your every need, the entire Regent team ensures your stay becomes exactly the experience you dream of.
We stayed in a fourth-floor suite that could quite easily be suitable for a long stay. Spacious, beautifully and thoughtfully designed, it combined comfort with understated luxury, and the views from the huge balcony of the marina were amazing. Checking out the fabulous yachts with a morning coffee was a favourite pastime.
Dining was a highlight of the trip. Breakfast and dinner at Murano Restaurant, overlooking the Marina, offered a great setting, watching the yachts come and go and the parade of elegant visitors drift by. The waiting staff struck the perfect balance between professionalism and warmth, adding genuine personality to the experience and making every meal memorable.
The little leisure time we had was spent at one of the most impressive pools we’ve ever experienced. The pool bar served excellent light lunches and a particularly good Aperol Spritz. When not relaxing poolside, we explored the refined shopping area, home to a selection of designer boutiques, dangerously tempting when you’re in such a relaxed state of mind.
To round off this all-too-brief stay, a visit to the Spa & Wellness Centre was essential. The massage was outstanding, totally restorative, and it was delivered with real expertise, leaving us feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated.
The interiors are soft, elegant, and thoughtfully curated. The colour palettes, artwork, lighting, and furnishings throughout the property come together to create an atmosphere that is at once exotic, sophisticated, and quietly luxurious. This hotel is huge, with a buzzy vibe, never busy, just effortlessly chic.
What truly sets this hotel apart is everything! Every detail feels considered and beautifully executed, and we long to return!
