Luxuria Reviews Mikasa Ibiza: Boutique Style & Wellness

Mikasa has one of those locations that makes exploring Ibiza feel wonderfully easy. Set beside Marina Botafoch, with boats and water right outside, you’re perfectly placed to dip in and out of the island’s energy while still having a peaceful base to return to.

The true pleasure lies in the fact that everything is very easy to reach—the Old Town of Ibiza is only a short ride by water taxi, Talamanca Beach is within a walk, and the restaurants, bars and shops around the marina are right there at the door. Nevertheless, Mikasa has a really intimate atmosphere, with just 16 rooms, each individually designed, and a friendly and welcoming staff who make the hotel seem personal from the first moment you get there.

The experience is such that travelling around becomes part of the enjoyment—this could involve walking down to the beach, having dinner by boat across the water or simply appreciating the view of Dalt Vila from the hotel.

A healthier side of Ibiza

Mikasa has a noticeably different energy to many of the island’s hotels. Its focus on holistic living and wellness is woven naturally into the experience, without ever feeling like you’ve checked into a serious retreat where you’re expected to be up at sunrise doing yoga.

The hotel follows a plant-based principle and offers healthy options at all times during your visit, and its rooftop gives you a pleasant area in which to stretch, practice yoga, work out or just enjoy the views. Furthermore, you can organise yoga classes, personal training sessions and bike hire, so it’s easy to include a touch of wellness in your trip to Ibiza.

For me, that is part of the appeal. You can enjoy the long lunches, late dinners and everything else that makes Ibiza so much fun, but you also have a place that encourages you to look after yourself in between.

A room for every kind of stay

Mikasa offers a pleasing variety of accommodation, so you can choose based on how you want to experience the island. The rooms range from more intimate options through to larger premium categories, with some offering private balconies or terraces and beautiful views towards the marina and Dalt Vila.

The interiors are simple and calming, with a natural palette and thoughtful details that complement the hotel’s wellness-led personality. Nothing feels overly complicated or showy, which works particularly well here—the location and views do much of the talking.

Whether you’re popping over for a few nights or making Mikasa your base for a longer Ibiza escape, there’s an option to suit diHerent travel styles and budgets.

Your own Ibiza concierge

One detail I genuinely appreciated was how accessible the team is. They’re available via WhatsApp, which makes arranging things during your stay wonderfully easy.

Need a restaurant reservation? Looking for somewhere to go that evening? Want to arrange a boat, an activity, airport transfer or simply ask for a recommendation? You can message the team directly, and they’ll help organise it.

It sounds like a small thing, but it makes the whole experience feel much more personal. Rather than spending your holiday working out the logistics, you have someone at the end of a WhatsApp message who knows the island and is happy to point you in the right direction.

The water taxi advantage

Then there’s one of my favourite things about Mikasa: the water taxi.

The small marina right beside the hotel offers a wonderfully easy crossing to Ibiza Old Town, with the journey taking around ten minutes. And honestly, why sit in traffic when you can be on a boat?

It turns a simple journey into something you actually look forward to. One minute you’re leaving the marina, the next you’re approaching Ibiza Town with Dalt Vila rising above you. It’s an easy, scenic way to get around and feels like a very Ibiza way to travel.

Close to everything, but with its own personality

Mikasa is also ideally placed for exploring on foot. Talamanca Beach is nearby for a morning swim or lazy afternoon, while Marina Botafoch puts restaurants, bars and boutiques within easy reach.

What I liked most, though, is that despite being so well connected, Mikasa never feels impersonal. It has the intimacy you want from a boutique hotel, with a friendly team and a relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in.

You can have breakfast, head to the beach, take the boat into town, spend an afternoon exploring and be back at the hotel without having to plan your day around transport.

A little base with a lot going for it

By the end of my stay, it was easy to see why Mikasa has such a loyal following. It offers a slightly different take on Ibiza — one that combines a brilliant marina location with wellness, mindful design and genuinely helpful service.

There’s no pressure to do things a certain way. You can embrace Ibiza fully, retreat to the hotel when you need a breather, or simply use Mikasa as your beautifully located base for exploring the island.

For me, the combination is what makes it work so well: a healthy, easy-going atmosphere, a team that is genuinely there to help, accommodation to serve different types of stays and one of the most enjoyable ways to get into Ibiza Old Town right on the doorstep.

And when your hotel comes with its own ten-minute boat ride into the heart of Ibiza, getting from A to B suddenly becomes rather fun.
