Maloba Private Game Reserve: A new Benchmark in Luxury Safaris
Maloba Private Game Reserve, an ultra-luxury lodge set across 20,000 hectares of pristine wilderness near Kimberley, officially opens December 1, 2025, introducing a new era of privacy, fine dining and purpose-driven conservation in Southern Africa.
Founded by the Perridon Family, Maloba redefines the meaning of a safari experience where fine dining, extraordinary wildlife, and purpose-driven conservation meet in complete exclusivity. With only five suites and a maximum of ten guests, every stay feels entirely private, as if the reserve belongs to you alone.
The Essence of Maloba
At Maloba, time slows, silence speaks, and the wilderness feels like home. Every detail is designed with intention, every view untouched, and every experience deeply personal.
Luxury here isn’t about grandeur; it’s about connection, authenticity, and meaning.
Unparalleled Suites & Main Lodge
Each Maloba Suite blends contemporary comfort with African soul, complete with a private plunge pool, indoor and outdoor showers, a fireplace, and an expansive deck overlooking the bush. The Diamond Suite, the crown jewel, offers an elevated level of refinement with a larger pool, private firepit, panoramic views of the Didimala thornveld, and a private safari vehicle.
The main lodge serves as the heart of Maloba, a space to gather, dine, and unwind. From refined lounges and terraces for sunset drinks to a campfire beneath the stars, it embodies quiet sophistication.
A Sanctuary of Wildlife & Adventure
Twice-daily game drives reveal Maloba’s landscapes and rare wildlife, including white and black rhino, cheetah, buffalo, and elusive nocturnal species such as aardvark, aardwolf, and brown hyena.
Beyond the safari, guests can take to the skies on a helicopter safari, explore the plains on horseback, practice skill and precision at the private shooting range, or even descend into an active diamond mine, a rare glimpse into South Africa’s heritage.
A Culinary Journey
Gastronomy at Maloba is an experience in itself. Each menu celebrates South Africa’s finest ingredients, reimagined with international influences. Guests enjoy ever-changing dining settings, from starlit bush dinners and elegant lodge evenings to seasonal farm-to-table lunches.
An exclusive wine cellar showcases South Africa’s most celebrated wineries alongside select international vintages, curated in collaboration with renowned winemakers.
The Maloba Foundation: Restoring ‘The Day Before Yesterday’
Conservation lies at the heart of Maloba’s vision. Guided by the philosophy “the day before yesterday”, the Maloba Foundation works to restore the reserve to its original balance, from healing the land and removing invasive species to rebuilding indigenous ecosystems and strengthening long-term sustainability.
The Foundation’s mission extends to wildlife protection and community wellbeing, supporting the Anti-Poaching Unit, investing in staff welfare, and creating future opportunities through education and local development. Every pillar: Restoration, Innovation, Protection, People, Leadership and Education contributes to a future where the land, wildlife and community thrive together.
“Maloba isn’t just a lodge,” says Michel Perridon, Founder. “It’s an invitation to reconnect with Africa to experience nature, silence, and beauty in their purest form, while surrounded by the very best the world can offer.”
With its rare combination of exclusivity, conservation, and sophistication, Maloba Private Game Reserve stands as one of Africa’s most extraordinary new destinations, a place that both inspires and protects.
