Achillea Beauty is a progressive and sustainable skincare brand specifically dedicated to exercise. They are the first and only company to have developed a facial mist that gets activated by motion — increased heart rate, blood pumping close to the skin surface, and open pores. This unique state of the skin during exercise is what they leverage in order to enhance the post-workout glow, hydrate skin to maintain a youthful appearance, and keep the pores clean and unclogged.

The Science Behind Exercise Skincare

Numerous studies and specialised books have empirically proved that exercise training causes adaptations in the skin blood flow response as well as in the cutaneous microvascular activity. Working out increases blood circulation which brings new nutrients and oxygen to the cells, which improves cellular turnover, collagen production and the delivery of active ingredients. The exercise-dedicated skincare ritual contains three products, all handmade, hand poured, vegan and sustainable. The packaging is 100% recycled and further recyclable, and the brand donates 10% of each sale towards planting trees. Their norm-defying pouch attaches and holds the hero spray to any size and shape of water bottle — made of leftover materials (fruit leather) — it’s an industry first that sees fruit waste as a precious starting material, eco-friendly, animal-friendly, super cool and practical.

Key Active Ingredients

The super-active ingredients have been highly researched and tested; it took over three years to perfect and test the formula and get it to the right stage. The cocktail of potent actives has been sourced from around Europe (UK, Switzerland, Italy, Romania) and the brand is 100% transparent on the full list, being as close to natural, clean ingredients as possible. They use yarrow (Achillea Millefolium) in all products due to its extraordinary properties — anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, moisturising, soothing, purifying and anti-ageing. It is also a local Romanian plant, found in abundance, that attracts hundreds of pollinators and butterflies and acts as an amazing fertiliser for trees. Its Romanian nickname is the mouse’s tail due to its resemblance to the little rodent’s back end, hence the brand’s mouse logo and the name Achillea.

Jelly by Now provides a serious mini-spa feast for your post-workout complexion. A cocooning and active mask, it works in two minutes whilst you’re showering post-workout. The Founders

Achillea Beauty’s founders are Andreea and Laricea. Both millennials born in Romania, Andreea is a biotechnology engineer with more than 10 years of experience in the field, now crafting beautiful cosmetic products inspired by nature and clean beauty. Laricea is a marketing strategist with a career spanning over 15 years, and the author of a book on brand purpose called A Brand’s Purpose… Less Unicorn, More Zebra?. Their passion for the environment, all things natural and beautiful, and their shared interest in sport brought them together for a greater cause.

The AHA moment came in 2018 during a boxing class when Laricea’s face was crying out for hydration. Being super passionate about face care, she longed for a product that works as hard as she does during exercise — a formula that celebrates physical activity, sweat, and heartbeats, but also the environment.
