Alexandra Dudley Creates Bathtub Gin Tea Towel
This summer, Bathtub Gin – the double-infused craft gin made in Kent – is leaning further into the art of home entertaining with a limited-edition collaboration alongside food writer, recipe columnist and renowned host Alexandra Dudley.
Every bottle of the Bathtub Gin (RRP £34.95) purchased at Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Asda will come with a complimentary organic cotton tea towel designed by Dudley herself, featuring hand-drawn illustrations that bring her signature hosting style to life through cocktail sketches, citrus motifs and her go-to signature punch recipe.
“Punch has such a generosity to it,” says Alexandra Dudley.
“There’s something wonderfully relaxed about serving drinks from a bowl rather than shaking cocktails one by one all evening. It instantly changes the atmosphere and lets you actually spend time with your guests. That sense of ease is something Bathtub Gin understands so well. And a beautiful tea towel is one of life’s small luxuries. I’m always collecting them.”
It is a collaboration rooted in the rituals of hosting. Practical, thoughtful and designed to be used rather than tucked away in a drawer, the tea towel captures the spirit of effortless entertaining that both Bathtub Gin and Dudley are known for. Part kitchen essential, part keepsake.
That shift towards slower, more intentional hosting is shaping the way people drink, too. Just as family-style dining and sharing plates have returned to the centre of the table, the punch has quietly come back into favour – carrying with it a wave of eighties nostalgia. Larger-format serves, prepared in advance and served from a bowl, speak to a style of entertaining that feels relaxed, abundant and convivial.
Alexandra Dudley’s Summer Punch – Serves 4
Designed for alfresco lunches, long summer evenings and tables full of friends, Alexandra Dudley’s signature punch is a softer and more vibrant take on a classic Negroni. Made with equal parts Bathtub Gin, Italian bitter aperitif, fresh orange juice and fresh lemon juice, it’s simple to remember and effortless to mix. Bright citrus cuts through the bittersweet depth of the aperitif, while Bathtub Gin’s warming spice brings everything together beautifully. A few dashes of orange bitters add an extra layer of fragrant citrus complexity.
