Aztec Hotel & Spa – a contemporary Spa Hotel in Bristol
Arrival and the Stunning Relaxation Lounge
Aztec Hotel & Spa is a contemporary spa hotel in an ideal location. It’s in an excellent spot for a stopover en route to Cornwall, or for exploring Bath and Bristol. I had the pleasure of enjoying an autumnal spa day at Aztec, which was delightful from beginning to end. This time of year is perfect for indulgent self-care and enriching luxury spa experiences.
Upon arrival, I was welcomed by friendly staff and handed a delicious mocktail to sip while touring the spa. Aztec Spa has introduced a brand-new Relaxation Lounge, my favourite aspect of the facilities. As soon as I entered, I felt instant tranquility and calm. I knew I was in for a treat! This lounge features three manicure and pedicure chairs, beautiful spa products, and a small kitchen area with complimentary refreshments, fresh fruit, and healthy smoothies.
Design Perfection
The colour palette in the Relaxation Lounge is an interior designer’s dream: gorgeous grey and white tones with comfy lounging chairs and tables. I was spoilt for choice with ample space to relax. It was the epitome of a cosy haven.
Spa Treatments and Facilities
The spa is a true haven for switching off and recharging. From the warm sauna to the relaxing hot tub, there’s something for everyone. Aztec Spa offers four treatment rooms—I highly recommend the Scalp and Back Massage. I felt utterly relaxed amid gorgeous aromas and subdued music; it was the ultimate pampering. Other treatments include facials, aromatherapy, men-specific options, and body scrubs using premium brands like Caudalie and Temple Spa.
No wonder Aztec Spa was voted the UK’s Best Boutique Spa in the Good Spa Awards 2022.
For fitness enthusiasts, the gym provides state-of-the-art machines and technology to meet your goals—a brilliant addition for spa day visitors.
Afternoon Tea at Curious Kitchen
After spa indulgence, it was time for afternoon tea at the Curious Kitchen. The space exudes cosiness with high ceilings and a Cotswold stone fireplace. Afternoon tea, crafted by their experienced pastry chef, is served daily.
Beautifully presented, the magnificent afternoon tea’s first course included West Country Keens Cheddar and chutney on rye, Severn & Wye smoked salmon, Devon-caught white crab & mayonnaise on rye, Somerset cider-glazed Wiltshire ham with Tracklements piccalilli, and Burford Brown free-range egg mayonnaise with Evesham watercress on freshly baked white bread. Delivered to the highest standard, the glass of Prosecco was a delight!
Final Impressions
I left Aztec Spa feeling refreshed, recharged, and at peace. It’s ideally located for accessible luxury with every facility you could desire.
