Continuum Elevates its Smart Community For Residents
An advanced level of connectivity is being introduced at the luxury residences by the industry’s most trusted visionary.
The Continuum luxury residences in Miami Beach is bringing the latest advancements in technology to its Smart Community in Florida with the help of Hotwire—a market leader in fiber optic internet.
Vitalis, one of the nation’s leaders in telecommunications solutions, saw the need to develop a consolidated “bulk” Internet solution that was vastly more reliable, cost effective and considerably faster for residents at the luxury oceanfront property. Vitalis was able to leverage its buying power towards establishing a wholesale market solution for Continuum owners. In addition to a comprehensive upgrade to the TV and internet service for individual homes, the property also needed to have a more reliable BDA life safety system, required by State fire code—ensuring first responders and residents alike have uninterrupted in-building communication during an emergency.
A formal RFP bidding process was conducted by Vitalis among at least seven top national and regional telecommunications and internet solution providers. A presentation was given to the board showing an analysis of each proposal, from which the Continuum’s management yielded to Vitalis’ recommendation of the provider best suited for the overall needs of the property. Hotwire was awarded the contract as a provider with a strong reputation for its work with notable luxury residential properties in the region, as well as for the convenience of already having fiber optic installed in the Continuum’s common areas.
“We have elevated our telecommunications to new heights, so we are an even more powerful and robust connected community,” says Rishi Idnani, Managing Director at Continuum. “We liked the value-added product line that Hotwire offered for our residences and property, which now proves to be a much more streamlined operation that we can monitor more efficiently. The bulk service offering we have adopted for both towers will also pass a cost saving on to our residents as part of the monthly HOA fee that incorporates the Hotwire service.”
Instead of satellite dishes that some owners were using, homes are now being offered 4K streaming boxes for Smart TV sets with dedicated app used over an in-home wireless network. In addition to a premium channel lineup, the upgraded TV service also features a community channel that management can utilize for property-wide announcements and important notices. The app would also allow residents to make reservations at the Continuum’s amenities such as the restaurant, tennis center or beach club. Residences in both the South and North Towers will now benefit from the fastest internet speeds in Florida, powered by brand-new Wi-Fi 7 routers in each home, capable of managing a much larger number of devices on its network. The network’s built-in redundancy ensures Continuum residents maintain uninterrupted connectivity, even in the event of an outage. All Continuum management offices and common areas will also be serviced with upgraded internet and TV connectivity.
“Continuum needed a wholistic solution, as one universal service that runs seamlessly across both towers, to reflect the premium condominium community and superior quality of homeownership the property is known for,” said Maz Khan, President of Vitalis Smart Communities. “Continuum is now the number one Smart Community in the region, with the most advanced internet and telecommunications service in South Florida, if not the entire state. Our partnership on this project reflects our mission at Vitalis: empowering communities to unlock technology solutions that enhance value, reliability and resident satisfaction.”
Vitalis has also engaged Connectivity Wireless to install Cellular DAS (Distributed Antenna System) – a specialised network of spatially separated antennas used to improve cellular signal coverage and capacity inside buildings and outdoor common areas. This acts like a property’s own cell tower, designed to eliminate any dead zones that may cause disruption to cellular connectivity around the grounds of the Continuum. As part of its dedicated service agreement, Hotwire will also provide its own team of technicians at the Continuum property—available to resolve any issues for residents around-the-clock. Continuum’s transition to Hotwire is expected to be completed by Summer 2027.
