Dukeshill launches new whisky cask cider
DukesHill, Champions of the Artisan, today confirms the launch of its brand new Whisky Cask Cider. Working in close partnership with the award-winning Scottish cider artist, Peter Stuart, the first DukesHill Whisky Cask Cider is hand-crafted in small batches and made using real fruit.
Matured for six months in single malt scotch whisky casks – this delicious dry cider is smooth & refreshing with warming notes of vanilla, oak and honey.
The cider is available to buy direct from DukesHill from 8th November – in cases of six or twelve bottle servings – with an RRP of £15.60 per 6 bottle pack and £30.00 per 12 bottle pack respectively.
The brand is also including the new beverage in two luxury Christmas gift options. The Whisky Cask Cider and Chocolate Indulgence Gift Box (RRP £40) includes the finest artisan chocolate selection of Dark Chocolate, Roasted Almonds & Ginger Mendiants, delectable Chocolate Covered Orange Slices and is perfectly paired with two bottles of Whisky Cask Cider.
The Whisky Cask Cider Savoury Hamper (RRP £64) is sure to satisfy any whisky, cider and cheese lover and contains the tastiest, most satisfying Montgomery’s cheddar, perfectly paired with the finest charcuterie selection of sliced Porchetta, Bresaola, Lomo and Pastrami, a Fig Chutney and Multi Seed Crackers and three bottles of the delicious Whisky Cask Cider.
The launch marks the brand’s latest foray into the premium cider category, following the successful release of its Traditional Apple Cider in the summer and is the brainchild of two renowned industry experts; Scottish Cider Artist Peter Stuart and DukesHill’s own Des Smith.
Des, now Chairman of DukesHill, earned his stripes in his previous role as CEO of Aspall Cyder. Peter has been focused on creating fantastic tasting ciders since 2008.
DukesHill Chairman Des Smith said: “After the success of our traditional apple cider back in the summer, we reapproached Peter to produce this exciting new flavour for the festive season and beyond – enhanced by the process of six months maturing in malt whisky casks.
“Allowing artisans to take the time to make products with true craftsmanship and passion, is at the heart of what we do. Commercial ciders are often made in a matter of days, rather than slowly over many months and you can really taste the difference.”
