This Christmas, The Nut Tree Inn, an Oxfordshire gem which has proudly held a Michelin Star since 2008, is inviting guests to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year, with decadent festive menus and quintessentially English, cosy countryside charm.

Led by Michelin-starred chef Mike North and his wife Imogen, The Nut Tree Inn offers elegant seasonal dishes, exceptional produce and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. From refined tasting experiences to comforting pub classics, The Nut Tree’s festive menus will make long winter lunches or Christmas Eve celebrations dining experiences to truly savour.

December Tasting Menus

An exquisite showcase of the season’s best ingredients, the December Tasting Menu demonstrates the precision and creativity behind The Nut Tree’s Michelin star. The carefully crafted menu includes dishes such as Parfait of chicken liver with red onion chutney and brioche, Fillet of fish with scallop boudin, herb purée and vermouth sauce, as well as Saddle of venison with Jerusalem artichoke purée, Madeira sauce and black truffle, before a pre dessert of Chocolate egg with salted caramel and praline cream and a Prune and armagnac soufflé with caramel ice cream to finish.

For plant-based diners, the Vegetarian Tasting Menu offers a creative, seasonal take on Christmas dining, featuring imaginative flavour combinations that highlight the versatility of vegetables at their winter peak. Highlights include Beetroot & lightly pickled red cabbage tart with horseradish ice cream, Ricotta agnolotti with preserved lemon, pine nuts and amaretto broth, as well as a signature Twice-baked Old Winchester cheese soufflé with grain mustard sauce, before finishing with the same indulgent desserts that have become true Nut Tree favourites.

Available throughout December, the tasting menus are priced at £95pp for lunch, £115pp for dinner, with an optional accompanying wine flight for an additional £65pp. There is also an optional cheese course to be taken after dessert, offering a selection of exquisite, artisan cheeses.

December Party Menu

Available Tuesday–Thursday evening and Tuesday–Saturday lunchtime

For those seeking a more relaxed yet still refined festive experience, the December Party Menu celebrates comforting flavours and traditional dishes with The Nut Tree’s signature finesse. Priced at £45 for 2 courses or £60 for 3 courses, guests can choose from starters such as Parfait of chicken livers with red onion chutney, Prawn cocktail with Marie Rose sauce, or Soup of the day, followed by Ballotine of turkey, Fillet of fish with scallop boudin or Jerusalem artichoke risotto with black truffle. For dessert, diners can finish with a classic Christmas pudding with brandy custard, Prune & Armagnac soufflé, or an artisan Cheese plate.

Christmas Eve Menu

For a truly special celebration, the Christmas Eve Menu at The Nut Tree brings together the very best of the season. Christmas Eve will be The Nut Tree’s last service of 2025, so come along and enjoy a real Christmas treat with the festive Christmas Eve Tasting menu for £150pp, with an optional cheese course for £25 per plate.
