A Dreamy Vow Renewal

I was taken completely by surprise when my husband of 32 years secretly arranged for us to renew our wedding vows. It was the perfect setting: a white sandy beach, azure blue seas, and the best sunset of our entire stay—the Gods were truly looking down on us. The hotel event team took complete control of the organisation and our celebration was perfect. We had a flower-laden buggy, flower arches, coconut cocktails, champagne, and cake. The clergyman gave a heartfelt ceremony and the photographer captured the entire event. It was romantic, special, and a most memorable few hours.

The beach and sun loungers ensured comfort with spectacular views, and the Hideaway Spa provided probably the best massage I have ever experienced. The treatment rooms on land offered a superbly relaxing experience with soothing music. The cutting-edge, science-based wellness brand loved by celebrities offers ultra-relaxing treatments that deliver real results. Also on the spa menu—and native to India—is Ayurvedic medicine, one of the world’s oldest holistic healing systems. It uses a range of treatments, yoga, massage, acupuncture, and herbal medicine to encourage health and well-being. Choose any one of these and you will not be disappointed; the therapists are well trained and extremely experienced.

Adventure and Activities for Every Taste

Golf, tennis, gym, yoga, Hobie Cats, kayaks, snorkelling, dolphin cruises, paddleboards, scuba diving, fishing, windsurfing, kite surfing, jet skis, and inflatable fun rides—wow! Whether you want relaxation or action, there is plenty to do. Your personal butler is on hand day and night to book your dining choices, experiences, and excursions. Each activity prioritises your fun and safety. The teams involved are knowledgeable and helpful, happy to coach wherever needed. We tried most things; our favourites were the tennis coaching, golf simulator, and dolphin trip.

The White Platinum package, which we highly recommend, includes absolutely all food and drink—even the mini-bar is complimentary (except for chocolate and spirits), including champagne and cocktails. You will not face a hefty bill at the end of your holiday. The idea is that your dining unfolds effortlessly to include everything you could wish for.

There are several restaurants at Hideaway; our favourite was Samsara Asian Fusion. It is in a beautiful beachfront setting above the water, and the menu is huge and varied. Choose from a wide range of delicious starters and move on to the main course of curries or sushi—all freshly prepared and cooked to order.

Other popular options include the Mediterranean-inspired Meeru Bar & Grill, where you can enjoy fresh fish, burgers, pizzas, salads, or light bites. There is also a pool, pool table, a cinema screen for weekly films, and a DJ on certain nights to get your boogie on!

We spent most lunchtimes at The Sunset Pool Café, a bright beachfront restaurant with its own pool and delicious menu. Most days we chose fresh fish, firecracker shrimp, a salad, or—if particularly peckish—a burger and fries, all washed down with a beer, strawberry Bellini, or Coke Zero.

Seamless Journey and Final Thoughts

Our journey to Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa was seamless: a direct flight from Heathrow London followed by a 75-minute seaplane. The seaplane trip was breathtaking, giving us a full view of inhabited and uninhabited islands and a real perspective on the size of the atolls and the natural beauty of the reefs. It is a vision we will cherish forever—truly picture-postcard scenery!

Our entire stay at Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa was 100% perfection, from the villas, service, spa, sport, and dining to the buggy rides, medical centre, and event team. We will never forget our completely wonderful experience and long to return!
