Conveniently located in the heart of Chester with easy access to transport, the bedrooms are contemporary with a traditional twist, reflecting the city’s famous architecture and the oldest racecourse in the UK.
Luxurious Bedrooms and Thoughtful Touches
All bedrooms feature unique designs with luxury Hypnos beds, spa-inspired bathrooms with rainfall showers, premium Molton Brown toiletries, air conditioning, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a 46” flat-screen TV with built-in Chromecast. The bathroom even includes a speaker for the TV, allowing you to listen whilst showering—a brilliant feature that elevates the luxurious feel. Hotel Indigo also left a personalised note in our room with a cake for my boyfriend’s birthday week. Such thoughtful touches, combined with exceptional staff service, made our stay truly memorable.
The room also offered a complimentary mini-bar stocked with various drinks, plus a coffee machine with tea and coffee facilities.
The Forge Restaurant: A Culinary Highlight
Hotel Indigo shares its building with The Forge restaurant, fast becoming one of Chester’s finest, offering delicious food and exceptional service. This latest venture by restaurateur and chef Mike Robinson celebrates wild, sustainable British ingredients and simple cooking over fire and charcoal. The kitchen takes centre stage in the elegant space, with incredible dry-aged beef and wild venison maturing in cabinets, ready for the forge grill.
Our waitress Helen was delightful and highly knowledgeable, guiding us expertly through the menu. She escorted us to the meat cabinet, where we selected a shared sirloin steak (40-60 day dry-aged, 650g-1200g) with chimichurri, watercress & peppercorn gravy. It was utterly delicious!
Exclusive Dining at The Den
Adjacent to The Forge is The Den, a private dining space for up to 12 guests. Helen kindly showed us around: guests enjoy an arrival drink in the bar before a surprise secret tasting menu brimming with exquisite flavours.
Superb Breakfast Experience
Breakfast was a highlight, with a wide variety including Eggs Benedict and full English options, fresh juices, and refreshing drinks—all enjoyed amidst the stunning restaurant interior.
Outstanding Staff and Lasting Impressions
The staff at Hotel Indigo Chester were exceptionally welcoming and attentive, creating a sociable atmosphere that left a profound impression.
