Hotel Indigo Chester – a contemporary boutique hotel in the city centre

Are you looking for the perfect place to stay whilst visiting the historic town of Chester? Hotel Indigo is the answer! Whether you are visiting for leisure or business, this hotel will blow you away.

Hotel Indigo is conveniently located in the city of Chester with easy access to transport. As you would expect from a new boutique hotel, the bedrooms are contemporary with a traditional twist. The bedrooms reflect the city’s famous architecture and the oldest racecourse in the UK.

All bedrooms have a unique design with luxury Hypnos beds, a spa-inspired bathroom with rainfall showers, premium toiletries by Molton Brown, air conditioning, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a variety of channels on your 46” flat screen TV with built-in Chromecast. The bathroom even included a speaker for the TV so you could listen whilst showering which was such a great added feature and definitely made the bathroom feel extra luxurious! Hotel Indigo also left a personalised note in our room including a cake for my boyfriend as it was his birthday week. Little touches like this go such a long way and the staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a great one.

Within the room, there was also a complimentary mini-bar which was filled with different drinks and we also had a coffee machine with coffee and tea facilities.

Hotel Indigo shares the building with The Forge restaurant, it is becoming one of Chester’s best restaurants with delicious food and exceptional service. The Forge is the latest in a group of extraordinary restaurant and dining experiences by restaurateur and chef Mike Robinson.

Continuing Mike’s passion for wild, sustainable British ingredients, and his love of simple cooking over fire and charcoal, The Forge has its kitchen front and centre in the middle of the lovely, elegant space. Incredible dry-aged beef and wild venison will be found in the maturation cabinets, awaiting their turn on the amazing forge grill.

Our Waitress Helen was so lovely and was very accommodating! Helen was really knowledgeable of the menu and was able to advise us on what would be the most delicious. She took us over to the meat cabinet to choose our steak and after her advice, we opted for a shared Sirloin steak. The steak is 40-60 day dry-aged steaks typically ranging from 650g – 1200g accompanied with chimichurri, watercress & peppercorn gravy. The steak was so delicious!

Alongside The Forge is a private dining experience which Helen kindly showed us. This is called The Den, which offers an exclusive dining experience for 12 people. You will be welcomed with an arrival drink in the bar before moving into The Den to be surprised with plenty of delicious flavours and engage in a secret tasting experience!

Breakfast was a hit with a wide variety of food on offer, from Eggs Benedict to a full English. There were fresh juices available and plenty of refreshing drinks. It was the perfect way to start the day surrounded by the amazing interior of the restaurant at Hotel Indigo.

During our stay, the staff didn’t go unnoticed. Everyone at Hotel Indigo Chester was really sociable and made us feel welcome. They couldn’t do enough which is always a great impression when visiting hotels and this will always be my lasting impression.

If you are looking for a lovely hotel in Chester, Hotel Indigo is the place to stay!
