IKKS Paris famed for their sophisticated urban style and rock ‘n’ roll attitude

IKKS Paris was founded in the French capital in 1987 and opened its first UK store in London in May 2022 in Carnaby Street.

IKKS began as kidswear but soon ventured into men’s and women’s wear. The style is urban with a rock ‘n’ roll edge, and edgy is exactly right, featuring leather jackets, biker boots, and stylish tailoring, every inch of each piece is French to its very core.

The Carnaby Street store is ideally located catering to an eclectic global mix of chic and fashionable shoppers. This season’s pieces for 2023 you will notice as you enter the London store is full of neutral tones, military-inspired shapes and colours from nature.

The women’s range is born from the idea that women can adapt the look simply by changing one item, maybe swapping their sneakers for a pair of heels going from day to night, swapping their jumper for a bejeweled t/shirt, adding a studded belt, throwing on a crossbody bag replacing your tote bag, it’s simple but the choices are huge.

The menswear is relaxed but stylish, with suede biker jackets, linen t/shirts, shirts with minimalist or maximalist floral, graphic or ethnic motifs, skinny jeans and chinos, combat boots and timeless sweaters.

The kid’s collections are simply hard-wearing, fun, functional and funky, every child wants to look as cool as their parents, don’t they?

Sustainability is also at the forefront of IKKS, moving forward the company has a lot of ideas and improvements they intend to implement. Ludovic Manzon CEO of IKKS reflects-

“As we are free to refuse prevailing resignation, we are not afraid of challenges, and more than anything it is certain that the whole of the textile industry must change, we have decided to take concrete action to improve IKKS. We are convinced that with determination, but also goodwill and humility, we can do what we do with a more sustainable and ethical approach in the long term. We owe it to ourselves, our environment and future generations”.

To reduce its carbon footprint and to move to a more sustainable and responsible market place IKKS want to change but without claiming to be something they’re not. The aim is to be more innovative while continually being more socially responsible and sustainable, they will take a few steps at a time but this process is something all ethical brands are now taking into consideration in order to help save our planet.

One of the most important steps to implement these ideas is to develop more ethical materials, they have designed The Hard-wearing Clothes Guide to give teams clear direction for the two years to come, these long-lasting and hard-wearing clothes will be collections designed on a permanent basis, reducing the need to replace staple items and keeping them out of the landfill.

All-in-all IKKS is a brand to watch, it hits the marketplace with exactly the correct ethos and not only that, the clothing is innovative yet competitive pricewise.
