Luxuria Lifestyle Interviews the Co-founders of My Sunday Ski
Today, we’re delighted to interview Cassie Easton and Ellie Lindsay-Wood, co-founders of My Sunday Ski, a brand bringing a fresh style to ski fashion. Combining functionality and a passion for mountain sports, they’re redefining what it means to look and feel great on the slopes. Today, we discover their journey, inspiration and ambitions.
How does this year’s collection differ from last season, and what was the inspiration behind the new designs?
This season marks by far our biggest collection to date, with a host of brand-new silhouettes, particularly across the ski suits we’re best known for. We’ve really focused on introducing new textures, patterns and shapes, pushing the boundaries of what technical skiwear can look like. From cable knits and tweed to faux fur, leopard print and gingham, there’s a real emphasis on bringing the latest fashion trends to the slopes without compromising on performance.
Our inspiration always comes back to our community and how they want to dress. We’ve always believed that skiwear should be an extension of your personal style, rather than a completely separate wardrobe, so we’re constantly looking at wider fashion trends and finding ways to translate them into pieces that are both stylish and functional on the slopes.
If you could put together your perfect ski outfit using just three pieces from the new collection, what would you choose and why?
I’d have to go for our new burgundy and pink polka dot Apricity jacket, paired with the matching burgundy Apricity ski pants and polka dot base layer. I’m absolutely loving the combination of burgundy and pink this season – it feels playful and feminine, but still really chic. I love how the polka dot print ties the whole look together, making a real statement on the slopes without feeling overdone. And although you’ve only given me three pieces, I’d definitely be sneaking in our burgundy logo headband to finish off the look!
Skiwear has become so much more fashion-focused in recent years. How do you balance creating pieces that look fabulous but still perform on the slopes?
That balance is exactly what My Sunday Ski was founded on. When we launched in 2018, we saw a real gap between traditional technical skiwear and fashion-led pieces, and we wanted to bring those two worlds together without compromising on either. It’s how we established ourselves in the market and
something that’s remained at the heart of everything we do.
While we’re known for our fashion-forward designs, we’ve worked incredibly hard to build a reputation for technical performance too. From high-performance fabrics and insulation to waterproofing, breathability, and carefully considered construction, every detail is designed with a full day on the mountain in mind. We want our customers to feel just as confident in how their skiwear performs as they do in how it looks.
For us, fashion and function have never been mutually exclusive, and we think that’s what really sets My Sunday Ski apart.
Take us back to the beginning. Where did the idea for My Sunday Ski come from, and what did you want to bring to the skiwear market that you felt was missing?
My Sunday Ski was born on the slopes of Méribel in 2018, inspired by Ellie’s mother-in-law’s vintage ski suit. It was beautifully made and effortlessly stylish, but what really struck us was the reaction it received. Every time Ellie wore it, people would stop her to ask where it was from. It wasn’t particularly
extravagant, but it had a real presence on the mountain.
As keen skiers with a shared love of fashion, we realised there was a gap in the market for skiwear that felt modern, flattering and exciting to wear, without sacrificing the technical performance needed for a full day on the slopes. We didn’t think women should have to choose between the two. We essentially set out to create the skiwear we couldn’t find ourselves, combining the design sensibility of a fashion brand with the technical credibility of a specialist ski brand. Eight years on, that philosophy still underpins
everything we do.
There are some incredible skiwear brands out there. What do you feel sets My Sunday Ski apart, and what would you love more people to know about the brand?
There are some incredible brands in the skiwear space, but I think what really sets My Sunday Ski apart is our ability to move at the pace of fashion while maintaining the technical credibility of a specialist ski brand.
One of our biggest strengths is our nimble, responsive design model. As a predominantly direct-to-consumer brand, we’re not tied to the long, traditional retail calendars that many established skiwear brands operate within. We’re constantly listening to our community, understanding what they’re responding to and keeping a close eye on wider fashion trends. That agility allows us to bring fresh, trend-led designs to the slopes much faster, while still being incredibly considered about the quality and performance of every piece.
What we’d love more people to know is just how much goes into the product beyond the aesthetics. We’re obsessive about the details, from the fit and fabrication to the technical construction and finishing. Being predominantly direct-to-consumer also allows us to invest more of that value back into the product, delivering luxury-level quality and performance at a more accessible price point.
Ultimately, we want women to feel they’re investing in something that looks incredible, performs beautifully and will be part of their ski wardrobe for seasons to come.
What colours, styles and trends do you think we’ll be seeing everywhere on the slopes this winter?
We think burgundy is going to continue to dominate the slopes this winter. We introduced it into our collection last season and absolutely loved the response, so we’ve expanded on it for AW26/27. It’s such a beautiful, rich colour that feels both timeless and incredibly current. We’re also expecting to see lots of
chocolate browns and earthy neutrals.
There’s a real return to heritage-inspired dressing too, with traditional alpine influences, collegiate-style crests and classic patterns like tweed and houndstooth. We’ve embraced this with our new Heritage collection, featuring ski jackets and matching bibs that really capture that timeless, old-school ski
aesthetic. Texture is another huge trend, from cable knits to faux fur and shearling-inspired finishes, adding a real sense of luxury to the slopes.
We’re also expecting playful prints to make a big statement this winter, particularly leopard, gingham and polka dots, bringing a fresh, fashion-forward feel to the mountain.
If we were to have a peek inside your suitcase for a week in the Alps, what three things would you never travel without?
Firstly, more ski outfits than there are days in the trip. It’s an occupational hazard when you own a skiwear brand, and we’re firm believers that you can never have too many outfit options!
Secondly, a really good pair of sunglasses. They’re arguably the hardest-working accessory in the Alps, from first lifts to long lunches and the inevitable après-ski session.
A notebook. Because some of our best design ideas come when we’re actually in the mountains, usually halfway through a chairlift conversation.
Is there one piece from the new collection that you’re particularly proud of, or one you think is going to be a real bestseller this season?
It’s so difficult to choose just one, particularly as this is our biggest collection to date, but I’d have to say our new Cable Knit Ski Suit. We’re incredibly proud of how this one has come together.
We loved the idea of taking something as traditional and synonymous with alpine dressing as cable knit and reimagining it as a fully functional ski suit. It has that beautiful, cosy, textured look, but with all the technical performance you’d expect from My Sunday Ski.
It’s a really good example of how we love to push the boundaries of traditional skiwear, and I think it’s going to be a real standout this season.
Can you give us a little insight into how a new collection comes together? Where do you tend to find inspiration for your designs?
Our inspiration really comes from everywhere, but first and foremost from fashion and our community. We’re constantly looking at what’s happening beyond the slopes, whether that’s emerging runway trends, street style, new colours, fabrics or silhouettes, and thinking about how we can translate those
ideas into technical skiwear.
We’re also incredibly close to our customers, which plays a huge part in the design process. As a predominantly direct-to-consumer brand, we have a really nimble, responsive design model, allowing us to react quickly to what our community is loving and introduce fresh designs without being tied to
traditional retail calendars.
When we’re developing a collection, we look at everything from the overall colour palette and key silhouettes to how different pieces can work together. We’re increasingly thinking about the complete ski wardrobe, rather than individual jackets or suits, so there’s a real focus on coordinating layers, textures and accessories.
Ultimately, it’s about taking the trends we’re excited by and making them work for life on the mountain, ensuring every piece delivers on fit, function and performance as well as style.
If you could dress anyone, past or present, for a fabulous weekend in the mountains, who would it be and what would you choose for them?
It would have to be Ellie’s mother-in-law, who unknowingly inspired the whole idea for My Sunday Ski back in 2018! It was her beautiful vintage ski suit that first got us thinking about creating the brand, so there’s something rather lovely about the idea of dressing her for a weekend in the mountains all these years later.
We’d put her in one of our new cable-knit ski suits, a modern take on that timeless, vintage alpine aesthetic that inspired us in the first place. It would feel like a real full-circle moment, and I think she’d look fabulous!
What’s been your proudest moment with My Sunday Ski so far? Has there been a particular moment when you’ve thought, ‘Wow, we’ve actually done this’?
There have been so many pinch-me moments along the way, but honestly, nothing quite compares to seeing people wearing My Sunday Ski out in the wild. Whether it’s spotting one of our ski suits on the slopes, walking into a hotel and seeing someone wearing our designs, or sitting at lunch surrounded by women dressed in My Sunday Ski, it still gives us the same excitement every single time.
What’s been particularly special as the brand has grown is having people come up to us on ski holidays, often wearing My Sunday Ski themselves, to tell us how much they love the brand or congratulate us on what we’ve built. It’s such a lovely feeling, and something we never take for granted.
Of course, there have been some incredible business milestones, but when you think back to where we started in 2018, seeing something we created become such a recognisable presence on the slopes is probably the thing that makes us proudest. I don’t think that feeling will ever get old!
Finally, what’s next for My Sunday Ski? Is there anything exciting in the pipeline that you can share with our readers?
There’s so much we’re excited about! We’re heading into what we hope will be our biggest season yet, with an ambition to reach £10 million in gross sales for 2026/27. It’s a pretty surreal milestone to be working towards when we think back to where we started in 2018.
International growth is a huge focus for us, particularly in the US, where we’ve seen incredible momentum. We’re continuing to invest in the team and infrastructure behind the brand, while also exploring opportunities in new markets.
From a product perspective, we’re really excited about taking My Sunday Ski beyond traditional skiwear and building a complete slope-to-chalet wardrobe. We’re introducing more lifestyle pieces, from beautiful knitwear and faux fur to cosy après-ski essentials, all with the same fashion-led approach that has always been at the heart of the brand.
And without giving too much away, there are a few other ideas we’ve been dreaming about for a while that could take My Sunday Ski in some rather exciting new directions. Watch this space!
