Using a local SIM in a phone we had brought with us, we navigated with Google Maps and found it very easy to get around.

We relished the freedom to explore at our own pace. Rather than waiting for taxis or adhering to fixed excursion times, our Europcar vehicle gave us complete flexibility. We could spend an extra hour watching dolphins off the west coast, stop spontaneously to buy freshly picked pineapples from a roadside vendor and take unplanned detours to scenic viewpoints or colourful temples simply because we could.
