If you’re seeking the perfect combination of family fun and delicious food, the Bristol Aztec Hotel and Spa is a true hidden gem. My family and I recently stayed on their Wellness Family Break package, and it was the perfect escape to relax and recharge.

Walking into our room, the first thing that struck me was just how spacious and comfortable it was — perfect for a family. There was enough room for my child to unpack their little treasures from the activity packs, and still space for us to relax. The decor was elegant yet inviting.

The hotel’s VI Little P extras were such a lovely touch. My little boy was thrilled with his mini dressing gown, his very own toiletries, and the drinks and snacks waiting for him on arrival. In the evening, milk and homemade cookies appeared before bedtime, and watching him curl up with his activity packs was an adorable moment.

The swimming pool and wellness facilities are beautifully maintained. I loved slipping into the quiet corners of the spa with a good book, feeling completely rejuvenated. The swimming pool allows children to join in at specific times, which gave us great family fun all together.

Meal times were another highlight. Breakfast was generous, with a full English to fuel the whole family for a day of adventures. We dined at The Curious Kitchen — the steak was cooked to perfection, and paired with a crisp, cold white wine, it felt like a grown-up treat, yet the restaurant was relaxed and welcoming enough for children too. They also offered a great children’s menu with lots of choices. I loved how dinner was presented; everything arrived looking incredible.

We also had time to explore the local area. Bristol is full of charm, from the harbourside walks and vibrant street art to family-friendly attractions like Bristol Aquarium. For those who enjoy a bit of shopping or a leisurely coffee, the city centre is only a short drive away. Enjoy spotting the street performers along the harbourside while sipping a coffee overlooking the water.

What makes the Bristol Aztec Hotel and Spa truly special is the attention to detail. Every little touch — from the kids’ extras to the spacious rooms and even the local recommendations provided by staff — makes it feel like a break designed for families who want a mix of wellness, fun, and quality time together.

It’s rare to find a place that truly delivers for both children and adults, but the Aztec Hotel does it beautifully.
