The Summerton Whisky Club Founded by Daniel Humphrey
Founded by Daniel Humphrey as a Christmas present for his dad (member No.1), this acclaimed rare bottle whisky subscription is going from strength to strength.
With Scotch whisky consumption rising across the world, many are turning to clubs to learn more about investing, build their knowledge, and meet like-minded enthusiasts.
Handpicked Rare Bottles
If you’re an early participant on your whisky journey, it’s important to taste as many different whiskies as possible to help narrow down what you like and what you don’t. Subscriptions allow drinkers to try a whisky knowing it has been curated by someone with credible industry knowledge.
Daniel commented on his continued success with the Summerton Whisky Club: “I always consider how I would like Dad treated whenever I make any decisions, which has meant we always try to do the right thing by our members first. I think in part this has driven our authentic success and community growth.”
Once signed up to this fantastic value-for-money subscription, you will receive a hand-picked bottle delivered every two months – over the course of a year, it works out to be one free full bottle. And of course, a subscription makes for a great gift too.
A Thriving Online Community
Whisky lovers can broaden their knowledge and enjoyment through participating in the growing community, with opportunities to make new friends and contacts.
“Whisky is best when it’s shared, and we’re lucky to have a fantastic community at all stages of their whisky journeys, who support one another too. Many have made friendships online during lockdowns and have now continued them in person – it’s a great club for bringing people together,” says Daniel Humphrey, founder.
Discover Distillers, Craft Producers & Sipping Sessions
With regular virtual sipping sessions with distillery owners, distillery tours, and exclusive member events, there’s a lot to enjoy throughout the year. Daniel is planning more activities too, including their 2024 member festival.
Each membership helps to support distillers and craft producers. Participants include Denmark’s Stauning Distillery, the Cotswolds Distillery, Australia’s Starward, Ireland’s Boann and Connacht Distillers, with Scotland’s Wolfburn, Fettercairn, Deanston, and Glasgow Distillers too.
Members also enjoy access to the Summertown Whisky Club shop – featuring exclusive bottles and discounts, all available at your fingertips.
Exciting Expansion Plans
For Dan, 2024 will be the year the Summerton Whisky Club returns to the EU. Pre-Brexit, the Summerton Club was a pan-European whisky club with members across the continent.
In 2020, Dan ran Europe’s first ever online whisky festival, with 1,000 attendees across Europe receiving a festival tasting pack in advance to join in the day’s activities.
Dan comments: “Now that the UK business is going from strength to strength and in a great place, I can look to expand across the continent again. Another project I’m looking forward to in 2024 is the launch of our single cask offering. Over the last couple of years, I’ve been purchasing casks and improving my contacts to start offering exclusive single casks.”
