The Zanzibar Collection is a privately owned collection of beautiful boutique hotels, located on one of the world’s Top 30 island beaches in one of the most exotic and breathtakingly beautiful destinations in the world. When we first arrived over 20 years ago as one of the very first investors in tourism, hardly any journalists or travel writers had ever visited our beach and Zanzibar was a unique destination. We really were explorers, searching for the perfect spot. We are family owned and run, dedicated to preserving the spirit, history and legacy of Zanzibar, through our commitment to tourism and a close cooperation with the local community.

Our properties, Breezes Beach Club, The Palms, Baraza Resort & Spa and Zawadi Hotel, are a reflection of the island and its captivating culture. Attention to detail is a priority for us and we decided to use our degrees from the Cornell School of Hotel Management to create places with world-class facilities, with the warmth of a family-owned and run business featuring beautiful design reflecting the skills of Zanzibari craftsmen. At our hotels, one can learn Swahili, palm weaving, visit the local clinic and school which we support, learn to cook signature local dishes and much more.

We offer a range of watersports, stunning spas and East Africa’s only National Geographic affiliated PADI 5 Star Dive Centre. The latest addition to the collection is the tranquil and stunning Zawadi Hotel, offering the best ocean views on the island. Zawadi Hotel sits atop a cliff with breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean. In the middle, the cliff recedes, creating a pristine white sandy beach, and guests have access to the beach from a short staircase leading directly to the sand. We do not accept children under 16 at Zawadi.
