A striking paradox of classic and contemporary defines the architecture and design. At its heart is a meticulously restored 16th-century manor house, set within extensive natural grounds, complemented by a sleek new wing inspired by the elegant slopes of the Douro vineyards.

The manor house serves as the soul of the hotel, housing the Vinha Restaurant, Reserva Bar, and the first Sisley Paris Spa in northern Portugal. Some guest rooms here overlook the Douro River, while the remaining rooms and suites are in the modern wing.

From its earliest days, the property has redefined hospitality, becoming a benchmark for timeless elegance and design. It invites guests on a sensory journey from the moment they arrive. Every decoration piece was handpicked by the owners, with most rooms drawing inspiration from the world’s greatest maisons: Hermès, Christian Lacroix, Etro, Ralph Lauren, Missoni, Kenzo, Nobilis, Manuel Canovas, and Pierre Frey. High-end British brand Jo Malone provides the amenities.

The hotel’s gastronomy is entirely curated by acclaimed two-Michelin-star Portuguese chef Henrique Sá Pessoa. The highlight is Vinha, the fine-dining restaurant where dishes draw from authentic Portuguese cuisine with global influences. Its elegant dining room features Moooi décor. A private room offers exclusive, intimate fine dining, alongside an outdoor terrace overlooking the river and gardens.

The Reserva Bar brings a disruptive, innovative vibe, evoking a classic club for private moments or gatherings—accessible to all, with the Douro River as a backdrop. Creative freedom shines through international gastronomy, classic and signature cocktails, wines by the glass, teas, herbal infusions, kombuchas, natural juices, and exclusive drinks. The bar also boasts a riverside terrace with views of the manor house gardens.

The state-of-the-art Sisley Paris Spa—the first and only from the Parisian brand in northern Portugal—spans 500 m² dedicated to wellness. Facilities include an indoor swimming pool, vitality pool, four treatment rooms, Vichy shower, sauna, Turkish bath (hammam), ice fountain, sensation shower, relaxation areas, and a fitness studio. On the same grounds, guests can shop for Sisley Paris cosmetics.
