Young LDN is the inspiration of Sue Carroll, she was looking for specialist skin treatments for her teenage son and struggled to find a salon that could successfully treat him, so what did she do? She opened her own salon, or medispa realising this was a universal issue.

But fear not Young LDN is not just for the young, their bespoke facials are just that. bespoke, regardless of age.  So when I was invited to enjoy a personalised facial for myself I jumped, I hadn’t had a facial for about four months.

The salon is in the heart of uber-trendy Notting Hill, surrounded by fabulous boutiques, bars, restaurants, hairdressers, and of course beauty salons. Young LDN is has a super-cool vibe, with colourful and interesting décor, with a friendly and buzzy atmosphere.

I was introduced to my aesthetician Roxanne who took me downstairs to the ‘ Aesthetics Lab” where the advanced skincare treatments take place. There were a number of rooms offering dozens of different treatments. The rooms were clean, bright, and individually designed with all manner of technical equipment. In this area they are able to treat everything from teenage acne, adult acne, and acne scarring, to rosacea, sun damage and wrinkles, and loss of tone. They also offer an array of body treatments from laser hair removal to fat freezing and IPL.

My Bespoke Anti-ageing Facial took an hour and was completely blissful. Roxanne explained every step of the treatment and gave me lots of really useful advice for home treatment. My treatment included three different cleanses, a gentle exfoliation, anti-oxidant, and vitamin solutions, LED light therapy, and a mask. My skin as I explained to Roxanne had been feeling dry and tight and looked dull. Within an hour it looked refreshed and felt soft and supple, with no dry patches or tightness. My complexion looked completely different, it looked plumped up and the fine lines appeared softer. Now all I have to do is carry on the good work at home.

Following my facial, I was treated to a luxury pedicure with gel. The ground floor of the salon is the Beauty Lounge where you can indulge in a mini facial, have a make-up lesson, a manicure, a pedicure, and lash and brow treatments. My feet are in good shape, I take good care of them, I have regular pedicures, but the Young LDN Deluxe Pedicure with gel was a ‘cut above the rest. It included all cuticle work, hard skin removal, massage, and gel application, all in a super comfy pedicure chair. I chose French for a change which was applied with complete precision, they looked perfect and felt wonderful.

Young LDN is a very cool salon, with well-trained therapists, I enjoyed my couple of hours there and will be back.
